Harbour Works

More information about the proposed works:
The work is to extend the piles to prevent potential damage been caused to the pontoons and the vessels berthed on them in the event of another tidal surge. The work is to be carried out by an appointed contractor, who has now completed similar work in Whitby, as with all works of this nature, the work is to be carried out in compliance with risk assessments and permits to work. The work is not expected to affect navigation and therefore no local notice to mariners has been issued at the moment but may be subject to review.
The initial stage is to start on row A and progress to row B, however projects of this nature are dependent on weather conditions and for that reason we cannot state what dates which boats need to be moved, but we will endeavor to give as much notice as reasonably possible. Any cooperation with the movement of vessels from the berth holders and your yacht club would be appreciated.
If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me or the Harbour Office.
